Good day.

No one, political beliefs aside, could not but recognize the end of an era with the passing today of Paul Harvey.

RIP.

Efficient Trasportation...

Is there any better argument for the funding of mass transportation?

Bad news for cruise ships.

Doomed...

The Showmen's League Building and the office blocks that surround it are scheduled for demolition sometime this year. They are being cleared to make room for a plaza adjacent to the office tower currently under construction, visible in the background of this photograph.

You can read more about it here.

Another step toward the Houstonization of the Loop.

One of my favorite spots in Chicago...

Wolf Point from the 5:50 Metra North Line out of Ogilvie Transportation Center, Friday, February 27, 2008.

The confluence of the north and south branches of the Chicago River, this is the place where Chicago began. Today it's a wonderful place to stand and watch life go by, especially during rush hour when you can watch a continuous stream of Metra and Amtrak trains leaving and arriving at the OTC and Union Station, Green, Brown and Purple Line L trains crossing over the river, and weather permitting, boats motoring up and down the river.

Not to mention a terrific view of the skyline.
